Envas 5 mg
The active pharmaceutical ingredient contained in Envas is Enalapril Maleate - is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor which is used to treat hypertension in adults and children older than one month, inorder to lower blood pressure. Lowering of blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. It is also used to retard the progression of heart failure and reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction.
Envas is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), congestive heart failure, kidney problems caused by diabetes, and to improve survival after a heart attack. It is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme). Envas is used to treat the following indications - renovascular hypertension, all degrees of heart failure.
In patients with symptomatic heart failure, Enalapril Maleate are also used to: improve survival rate of the patient, retard the progression of heart failure, reduce hospitalisation for heart failure, prevention of symptomatic heart failure. Prevention of symptomatic heart failure. In asymptomatic patients with left ventricular dysfunction, Enalapril Maleate is used to: retard the development of symptomatic heart failure, reduce hospitalisation for heart failure, prevention of coronary ischaemic events in patients with left ventricular dysfunction.
Envas is also used to reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction and to reduce hospitalisation for unstable angina pectoris.
The recommended initial dose of Envas is 5 mg once daily. The normal maintenance dose is one 20 mg tablet taken once daily. The dosage should be adjusted according to the requirements of the individual patient to a maximum of 40 mg daily. Take Envas exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results from Envas.
It has been observed that in patients being treated for hypertension, side effects were uncommon. Get emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including: hives, severe stomach pain, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects: feeling light-headed, fainting, urinating more or less than usual, or not at all, fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding, fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeats, chest pain, swelling, rapid weight gain.
